National Novel Writing Month begins Wednesday. I'm ready for it. At least, I hope I am.

Starting Wednesday, the first of November, I will be writing. You might remember last year when I wrote The Sebastian Campaign, this year I'll be writing a fantasy novel. I can't tell you what it's about for a couple of reasons; one is that I don't want to spoil the surprise, and another is that I'm not entirely sure what it's about.

I will give you updates as I move along, snippets and such. If you'd like more than snippets, feel free to let me know, maybe you can read it as I write along.

My Cowboy Computer

My PC is currently turned off (I'm writing this on the Mac), and yet, there is very quiet country music coming from the speakers. I thought it was coming from somewhere else (a neighbor, perhaps) but when I adjusted the volume, the sound went away. I put my ear right next to the speaker, and it's definatly coming from the computer speakers.

I can hear the DJ now. Wacky. Some kind of radio interference.

Moving: A Photo Essay

Jeremiah begins the moving day enthusiastically

The old house quickly turns to chaos

But Marion sees it all with excitement and joy

Friends help us with the trek up to our new tree-house like home

And it quickly becomes chaos, too

Kitchen a mess with boxes

But the kitties are here with us, even if Marion thinks they're new kitties because they're so darned happy and personable now

And Henry is so excited he doesn't sleep anymore (11:30pm)

And anyway, we're getting there, getting settled

A real kitchen!

And finally we're where we belong

Friday The Moving Day

We were married on Friday the 13th. It makes sense that we'd move out of our first home on Friday the 13th as well.

Things are packed, we're going to get the truck at 11am, and we'll be on our way. We're very excited, and we hope to see you here to help us load and unload.

Until I see you again, at Touchstone Cohousing,

The Detroit Lions...

...are so bad that they've driven me to watch baseball. Or, maybe the Detroit Tigers are so good that they've driven me to give up on the Lions.

Did you see that game last night, the ninth inning? Jones loaded up the bases, and then had to face Frank "39 homers this year, almost 500 career homers" Thomas. The man might be old for baseball, but he can hit it about 600 miles.

And he pops out to end the game.

Jones scares me, but these Tigers are good. Two wins to zero in the best of seven series. Three games in Detroit coming up. They're gonna win. The Tigers are going to go to the World Series.

Super Glasses Are Fun

So, I haven't mentioned this yet, mostly because I'm busy doing it instead of posting: We're moving on Friday. Our house is rented, so we're headed over to our new home on the other side of town.

Things are getting packed, things are getting ready, things are getting done. It's likely that there will be another break (not forever, just a little bit of time) when I'm going to post slowly. I'm gonna be busy, but hopefully I can get some pictures up every now and then.

Playin' at the Playground

Henry gets ready to do the impossible (or maybe foolish).

Marion, apparently, can climb rock-walls all by herself. Who knew?
